Nice start.
I think be careful not to make it too sci-fi if it's for the card game.
BIRDS FOR SCALE
Looks like a worm/cacoon thingy to me at first glance sorry.
And the environment has to be more medieval. Now it looks like lost planet 2 kinda feel.
I like... the lighting looks good. increase the contrast of the foreground to make it standout more.
